I don't start with a factory mold or a production line.

I start with wood.

Every piece has its own character—its grain, color, figure, texture, and imperfections. Part of the craft is learning to see what that particular piece of wood can become.

Rather than trying to make every piece identical, I allow the natural character of the wood to become part of the design.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
